The word "Bocados" is derived from the Spanish language meaning tidbits, morsels, little bites, or mouthful. We pride ourselves in preparing each dish with only the freshest ingredients daily. We want everyone to feel as though they are at home when dining with us, only the food is from our kitchen.

Overview

Bocados has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere with colorful rooms for romance or enjoying dinner with family or friends. Thanks to the popular bar, the crowd in the evenings can get a little wild on occasion. On certain nights tables are moved for dancing andyou can see DJ Terry Flores spinning your favorite music - anything from Salsa, Merengue, Disco or House Music.

The typical Mexican fare is delicious such as the Beef Fajitas, Pollo Relleno, their famous refried beans and a chunky salsa that you'll just want to drink up because it's so good! The seafood entrees are some of the dishes that melt in your mouth to name a few the Enchiladas de Mar, Ceviche, and of course the Red Snapper.

Also try the Tacos al Carbon as they were chosen as" The Best Tacos al Carbon you must eat before you die" in the Texas Monthly December issue 2006.

Bocados was voted top 50 Hispanic Restaurant in the United States by Hispanic Magazine 2005.

Our History

Two Latinas in Houston, Texas, have enjoyed success for the last 10 years, since they opened the doors of Bocados. Owners Terry Flores and Lily Hernandez were friends in college before opening the venue, which serves authentic Mexican cuisine and turns into a hot party spot on certain nights like Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The biggest night at Bocados is Girls' Night Out, a ladies night held every Wednesday since the club started, which has currently moved to every other Friday. (see calendar for other DJ nights)

Flores works a lot of private events off-premise, as well. The crowd at Bocados varies day to day ranging from 75 guests to 150 on a given club night. "I can guarantee you that I keep them dancing and keep them happy," Flores says. The drinks of choice are Apple Martinis and Margaritas.  "We want people to feel relaxed and enjoy a night for dinner or dancing." she says. What better venue to have when you can do both at Bocados.

Bocados was a house before we converted it into a restaurant and club. "It's really quaint," Flores says. "People know each other here." It's a very comfortable atmosphere." An outdoor patio for dining and cocktails extends the vibe outdoors. "We started by word of mouth, and that's been the way it's been," Flores says. We do some advertising on occasion for special events, such as New Year's Eve. But weekly, the crowds continue to come. "They have a good time here and they just want to come back to a place that they enjoy and know that they'll have a good time.
